Part 10 of a ten-day journey. The full series is also available as one combined guide.
Growth doesn't happen overnight.
The world wants everything now. Spiritual growth, like any meaningful change, takes time.
Galatians 5:22-23 lists patience as part of the fruit of the Spirit. It's not just waiting. It's how we wait: with faith, hope and trust in God's plan.
Why patience matters
- Deep roots. Like a tree, spiritual growth needs time to put down roots for strength.
- God's timing. Ecclesiastes 3:11: "He has made everything beautiful in its time." His timing is perfect, even when it isn't ours.
- Character. Patience builds endurance, hope and trust.
How to grow it
- Embrace the process. Transformation is a journey. Celebrate small wins.
- Pray for patience, and to see His hand in the waiting.
- Live in today's grace, not tomorrow's anxiety.
Trust, actively
Trusting God's timing isn't sitting back. It's staying engaged while resting in the assurance that He's at work.
- Keep your daily practices: prayer, Scripture and service.
- Surrender your timeline. When you feel impatient, remember God knows what He's doing.
- Seek His peace in moments of frustration.
Today's challenge
- Look back at how far you've come since Day 1. Acknowledge any growth, however small.
- Practice patience in one situation where you usually react impatiently.
- Pray for the ability to trust God's timing.
Patience isn't just waiting. It's growing in faith while you wait.
